Best Bday for Me.....

It’s been long time I have write no post in here. I’m too busy to doing this. It’s my last year in high school, I have to study hard. So, I can past my last exam in High School. :P

Now, I’m not gonna post something connected with Indonesia. I wanna post some awkward and funny things that happen before, on, and after my birthday.

A few days before the ‘it’ day, I had really really bad days. I don’t know if its just coincidence or something but its annoyed me.

It started when I asked my teacher about my rank from 1st semester till 5th semester for my graduation soon. But she didn’t want to give it to me. She told me that wasn’t important but I know its really important.

It tooks 2 days to ask her to give me rank and it’s not simple as a write here. I just can’t explain it..

After that I fought with my friend and it’s caused by me. I’m on bad mood, he asked me to join him to canteen but I rejected him, Then he push and push me to join him. I scream on him, I hit him with empty plastic bottle. How jerky and bad I am!!

I feel really terrible, thats over reacted I think. So, I apologized to him, and he do really forgive me.

And from this day every bad things change to fun and cool things. On Saturday, my parent gimme Sony Vaio Notebook for my bday gift. Thats really awesome!! I don’t think that they will give this cool gadget for me cause I think this year I’m not really good girl for them. :P

Here's the notebook

On Saturday night I’m not going anywhere, I’m too excited bout waiting my 17th bday. Hehehehe.. And the next cool things I got on my bday is HE (someone who wanted to be with this crazy girl, :P) was the first person that say bday greeting to me, how romantic he is, I love you, babe!! Hahahaha....

Then on Sunday, I got the next surprise. Its from my bff, Dyn. She came to my house when I was sleep then she waking me up with sing me bday song and give me a bday cake with blue cream (my fave color). We hug each other, and you know, I haven’t brush my teeth or wash my face yet. I don’t know how was my smell.

Isn't it cute?

Still on Sunday, in the afternoon I hung out with my family and doing some fun activities together. That was amazing day for me.

But actually, It wasn’t stop on Sunday.

On Monday, when I walked in to my class, my classmates singing me a bday song together. Isn’t it really sweet?? I don’t know that they know when exactly my bday is.

Then In Sunday afternoon I got the best gift from myself, what is it? It’s the high scores on TOEFL. OMG.... That was sooo amazing for me. I wasn’t study before do the test but I got a high score. It’s so cool, right?

On Wednesday, I totally busy with my funny things. Me and my girl friends hang out together to celebrate my bday. Yeahhh... its not over yet. ;)

Sweet

On Saturday, Me and my boyfriends hang out and dinner together for celebrating my bday again. So, last week is full of celebrated my 17th bday. This is more than what I expected. Its toooo awesome.

Thank you so much!!!

I’m sure I will never forget about how peoples who mean so much for me did this beautiful things to me. You all are cool. Love y so much.

I’m happy with my life. I hope this happiness will never stop showing in the whole my life..

*I’m sorry for this disconnected articles, I just wanna told you all how happy and grateful I am. And also I wanna make you jealous to me. Are you? Hahahaha....:D

Sambal

Yesterday my mom visited my grandma who lived in different town with me for couples day. Actually, I'm pretty happy with it cause it mean I can do anything I want. ;)

But, when I bought lunch at food shop. I don't know It just feels sooo different with food made by my mom.

And now I know what thing that could make its taste different. There's always sambal on mom's food. It's totally makes every foods you eat ore delicious.

So, what is sambal?

Sambal is made from chillies, onions, peppers, salt, and terasi (only from Indonesia). Its like spicy sauce but not too soft cause we made sambal traditionaly with cobek, not used a copper. Cobek is something made from stone, just like it

All we need to do when we wanna use cobek is put all flavor on it

then copped with that smaller stone untill the flavor almost soft and its done. :)

Doesn't it looks so spicy??
But remember, don't eat it without mineral water near you cause its totally HOT. You can eat it with Fish fillet, fried fish, tofu, tempe (something made from soybean), or anything you wanna eat.

I don't know why Indonesian peoples love this cuisine. They said you can't taste how delicious food without eat it with sambal. And I agree with them.

I'm not lying if I say you cannot stop eat if you eat your meals with sambal. So, don't eat it if you on diet's program. :)

And you know, there's many kind of sambal, like

Sambal tomat, not too spicy

Sambal Ijo, its used green chillies

Sambal petis, used petis (made from shrimps)

And, its the most famous sambal in Indonesia or maybe in international, it called sambal terasi. Everybody's love it. :)

So, wanna try it sometimes??
Don't try to eat it if you don't like spicy. It will burn your mouth. :)

Birthday

Is it February ?? Oh my God, I'm going to 17 on February 22th and It means I'm not teenage at all. heheheh..

Talking about birthday, I remember about little bday tradition for teenage and adult in my country. I don't know if there's any country do this tradition but I think I shud write about it on this post.

Usually, peoples celebrate their bday with party, dinner, or threw some bday's cake on the people whose got bday. In here, we also doing that. But in here, when you got bday, just be careful cause ur friend wouldn't let you clean all day long.

They will throw all dirty things to all over your body like throw flours, ditch waters, rotten eggs, coffee, gums. It's so disguisting when you have clean your body after that attack, they will throw you again untill you stop try to clean your body.

And the part I hate about it are when they throw the coffee to my clothes, or when they throw the rotten eggs and gums to my hair. Its ridiculous... But I think I like this tradition, after they think that attack is enough, we'll hang out together till the day of this bday's over.

Isn't that sounds funny?? :)

And for the adults like my parent's bday, sometimes we do tumpengan.
What's that?
Well, tumpengan is we celebrate bday with having lunch (not dinner) with nasi tumpeng, Its totally Indonesian cuisine. Like these..

Looks delicious, right?
You see that yellow's conical things? Thats what we called nasi tumpeng, its made from rice.

So, after we sing a bday song, we HAVE TO sliced nasi tumpeng and put it on a plate. Then we choose the side dish like fried chicken, boiling eggs, noodles, salad, fried fish, or anything else. And we give the first sliced to someone who mean so much. After that, we just sing a song together, pray together and do every fun things together. :)

Actually, tumpengan is not just for celebrate bday. Its also can we do when we wanna celebrate anniversary or another family's or adult's event. :)

Ojek

A days ago, I've chatted with my friend in Netherland. She said she was very happy to live there even if sometimes she rele missed every unique things in Indonesia.

Then I asked her about what things she couldn't find in there but can find everydays in Indonesia. She said that she couldn't find 'ojek'! and thats make us laugh and I said 'Of course there's no ojek'

Then I don't know I just think What about write some story of ojek on this blog. I thougt that will be cool, right? :)

and
What excatly 'ojek' mean??

Well, Ojek is a kind of transport like taxi but not used a car, its used a motorcycle. Yea... motorcycle. It's sounds weird, right? But, it's true. ;)

So, if you wanna use ojek to go somewhere you have to go to their station or in Indonesian it called 'pangkalan'. Ojek station wasn't like train or bus station! Its like umm.. I can't explain it but you can see this pic.

So badly I think. :-? O yeaa.. you see those persons behind motorcycles? They are people whose jockey those motorcycles or in here the called 'tukang ojek' but I think you can call them ojekers. :p

In ojek station, choose an ojeker and tell him the place you wanna go. If he know that place, you just need use helmet (he'll give you) and he ready to take you wherever you wanna. But if he doesn't know, you can ask another ojeker.

When you arrive in the place you want to go, don't forget to pay the ojeker and also return his helmet. hehehehe....

Its simple, right?? But not everybody wanna use this transport, neither do I. And I don't know why, maybe its because they had their own ride, just like me. :)

So, wanna enjoy you quick trip with ojek?? ;)

Sasirangan

Think about my trip to South Kalimantan few days ago, I remember about 'Sasirangan', Its custom cloth from South Kalimantan.

Sasirangan usually used by peeress but now everyone can wear it. It will be cool when wear sasirangan in formal events like wedding party or whatever.

If you want to take a holiday in South Kalimantan don't forget to buy Sasirangan cause I'm sure many womens will like it. It's Unique and made by their own hands without machine.

These are some pictures about the way to make sasirangan.

Cutting cloth

Making pattern

Smoking pattern

coloring cloth

washing cloth

cut off the suture

And it's done :)

That's look soo nice, right? and here's a picture that I found on someone's blog. It's about sasirangan kids fashion show...

What do u think?

So, wanna have some sasirangans in your wardrobe?? ;)

Watertub

Indonesia, When I talk about it I don't know, I just can't stop talking. Maybe because I have many things to tell about our cultures, our life, and everythings in here.

Now, I wanna share about 'How Indonesian's people take a bath?'

It's sounds not interesting, right? But, I think its little interesting cause we have different tradition about the way to take a bath.

Some peoples in Indonesia didn't take a bath with shower or bathtub. We used something like bathtub but not for have a bath, its for patches the waters that we will use to have a bath.

So, we have to use something called 'gayung' to put the waters because we can't gettin to the tub.

It called 'gayung'

Is that make u confuse?

I just can't explain it. It's little complicated. But I really want to make everybodys know about it cause I think its unique.

In my home, I have 3 bathroom. In 1st floor, 2nd floor, and in my room. In 1st floor we used shower but in 2nd floor and in my room we used umm.. ok I named it watertub or in indonesia it called 'bak mandi'. :)

That's watertub, beside the shower.

I like to take a bath with shower but I like to take a bath with watertub more. I don't know why, maybe because I usually do that.

Oh yea, you should know that warm water is unavalaible in watertub. But in this tropical country of course we don't really need warm water cause waters in here is not too cold.

So, wanna try our tradition in ur house sometimes?? I know it's just an ordinary tradition but I think u'll like it.

:D
